Mr. Benoît NKUNRUNZIZA, Director of the National Center of Excellence of Rwanda
Mr. NKURUNZIZA has been the Focal Point of the Alliance in Rwanda, the twenty-sixth Member State of the Alliance since September 2009 and is now the Director of the National Center of Excellence of the Alliance in Rwanda.
Mr. NKURUNZIZA obtained the adhesion of his country through the Minister of Sports and Culture. He has worked since then with the General Secretariat of the Alliance to establish and maintain relationships with other ministries and has led inter-ministerial negotiations for public-private partnerships in the energy and agriculture sectors.
As the Director of the National Center of Excellence of the Alliance in Rwanda he brings together groups of experts who write sets of notes and articles on the contribution of sport to the SDGs in Rwanda.
A graduate in physical education and sports, Mr. NKURUNZIZA is an expert in sports policy planning. He has led grassroots sport and good governance through sport projects, notably at the Cercle Sportif de Kigali. These commitments led him to direct the education section of the National Commission for Human Rights. As Director of Sport, he led operations for Olympic sport and national teams. He his currently an Executive Director of “Rwanda’s Sport Health Care Organization".
